The Oreocereus trollii is a lovely columnar cactus named after the German botanist Wilhelm Troll, that grows with thick white hair over its brown spines. Oreocereus trollii, commonly known as the Old Man of the Andes cactus is native to anreas of Argentina and Bolivia. These hairs allow it to thrive in full-sun environments, and can become sparse if the plant is grown in too much shade. This plant can produce red flowers, usually after it has grown a few feet tall.

Like most cactus, Oreocereus trollii grows best in a gritty, well-draining mix which allows it's roots to dry in-between watering. This plant grows best in partial shade where it can get all the benefits of bright light without being scorched on hot days. In summer it produces striking reddish-purple flowers bloom during the day.

Each living plant is unique and may vary slightly in size, colour, or shape depending on the season. Flowering plants are sent when available.

(You will receive a bare rooted plant similar to the ones in the pictures provided)
