Adromischus cristata var schonlandii is a stunning succulent plant native to areas of South Africa. It’s described as having bright green thick, fleshy leaves with distinctive wrinkled edge, which is why it has the common names ‘Crinkled Leaf Plant’ and ‘Key Lime Pie’. When it is stressed its can have flushes of grey-green or reddish-brown markings on the leaves. It produces small, tubular white or pink flowers that appear in cooler weather.

This variety has a compact, clumping growth habit and is very drought tolerant as it stores excess water and minerals in its fleshy leaves.  As this plant matures it will produce a number of offsets, these can be used for propagating to left to for a stunning clump. Being a succulent this plant naturally helps purify the air, not only is this plant beautiful to look at but it’s also helping clean the air you breathe! These plants are perfect for containers, terrariums, garden beds, succulent displays and water wise landscapes.

☀️This plant requires bright, indirect light but harsh direct sunlight needs to be avoided as this can scorch the leaves.

💧Overwatering can lead to rot, so it's best to allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings.

〰️These plants don’t have any special requirements when it comes to humidity. Ambient is perfectly fine for these guys.

🌡️Standard room temperatures between 18-24°C are perfect

🍴Use a balanced liquid fertiliser at half strength once a month during the growing season (spring and summer).

✂️This plant readily produces numerous offsets making it a very easy species to propagate. Simply remove the offsets, let them callus and then nestle the base into a well draining potting mix. Avoid watering until the plants have put out some roots.

🪴Repot every 2-3 years as needed, using a well-draining potting mix formulated for cacti and succulents.
