Haworthia is a large genus of succulent plants native to South Africa where there are more than 100 different species. Haworthia are also commonly called ‘Zebra Cactus’, ‘Pearl Plant’, ‘Star Window Plant’ and ‘Cushion Aloe’. They get these nicknames as they resemble mini aloe plants, but they are distinguished by their flowers. Many have little circular bumps that look like pearls or have raised bands across the leaves. Some even have little fine hairs called trichomes, others have thicker leaves and some are very miniature.
This variety has closely packed green, fleshy leaves, that’s are dappled with little white pearls. These leaves form a tight rosette and grows in an upwards direction. As this Haworthia matures it will produce a number of offsets, these can be used for propagating to left to for a stunning cluster. It is important to ensure they have adequate room at the top of the pot as if they are too tightly packed the pups can end up growing a bit funny.
Being an Haworthia this plant naturally helps purify the air, not only is this plant beautiful to look at but it’s also helping clean the air you breathe! These plants are perfect for containers, terrariums, garden beds, succulent displays and water wise landscapes.
☀️This plant requires bright, indirect light but harsh direct sunlight needs to be avoided as this can scorch the leaves.
💧Overwatering can lead to rot, so it's best to allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings.
